Many moms I know, keep an extra box of wipes in their car and a travel size in their tote/gym bags!

Here are some unique ways to use baby wipes, long after your baby is out of diapers:

1) They are awesome at getting rid of that under eye shadow from the mascara you applied in the early a.m.
2) Wipes quickly and efficiently clean up that little bit of nail polish that always seems to goe outside the lines during a homemade mani/pedi!
3) Dust the mantle
4) Clean off electronics
5) Take marker off walls
6) Wipe down a window sill…they even can be attached to a Swiffer when you are out of refills and just have a small area to clean.
7) Perfect for wiping down the sink in the guest bathroom.
8) They are ideal for cleaning sticky cars seats.
9) Wipes are super necessary when traveling.
10) They can even “lick” an envelope for you.

**If you are a true DIY'er like myself, you may want to try your hand at making your own natural "baby" wipes.

Here are the minimal ingredients you will need:

1) Perforated paper towels

2) Distilled water (1 1/2 cups)

3) Liquid Castille soap (1 tablespoon)

3) Vegetable Glycerine (a few drops for added softness)

4) Witch Hazel (1 tbsp)

5) Essential oils (grapefruit/orange) are natural cleaning agents

6) An upcycled tub from store wipes or a tall container (keep in mind you will be using half of the roll, upright for the tall container and individual folded sheets for the tub style option.

Instructions:

Take the paper towel roll and carefully cut it in half with a non-serrated knife, leaving the inner cardboard tube intact after cutting. This will help the "wipes" come off the roll in individual layers. Place into container.

Mix all of the ingredients above however, add the EO at the end (10 drops). I prefer citrus for adding disinfecting power. If you are sensitive to citrus, you can add a few drops of peppermint and/or lavender or omit the essential oils altogether.

Pour the mixture over the paper towels, a.k.a. wipes and allow to saturate. If using the tall container style, cover and turn over after 10 minutes to ensure the mixture is through the entire batch. Remove the inner cardboard tube and pull through 1-2 sheets from the middle. Cover and viola!

*Since these DIY wipes are preservative free, they may not last as long as store brands (average is 3-4 weeks.) However, you will feel good about knowing there is nothing artificial in them and will likely use the wipes up!

** Be careful not to apply as a makeup remover. The citrus can sting and you do not want to use it near your eyes or sensitive areas.

*** It is best to keep the homemade wipes tub at home/room temperature.

Be unique!
