November to Remember

Health, Holidays and tons of events

November to Remember?

Think post-Halloween and Daylight savings time for shortened days with added sleep. However, as parents of younger children know, the extra hour is often lost on them. Watching their children awaken at the same early hour or even earlier can put schedules into a tail spin.

The good part about reaching a new month is having the chance to start over yet again, a chance to regroup and find new meaning in the new month.

Are you staying home this year or traveling by car instead of flying?

Do you need a ready made Thanksgiving meal? Do you want your own mini marathon? Thousands of runners will once again take to the streets for annual/local Turkey Trots and you can do it too!

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. Whether spending time with immediate or extended family, or even renting a Vermont Ski House for the long weekend, there are so many ways to continue to find both peace and excitement this year.

Giving back, by delivering food to those in need, is always fulfilling and helps you enjoy your holiday further.

If you are staying home but are just not in the mood to do all of the cooking this year, many local restaurants, supermarkets and catering businesses are offering COMPLETE Thanksgiving meals.

Here are some of my favorites:

Supermarkets

1) Acme and Shoprite are offering complete dinners.  Heat and eat! Shoprite's meal comes with a fully-cooked Butterball turkey, sweet potatoes, stuffing, and green bean casserole. Give your local store at least three days in advance notice/order.

You can also earn a free Thanksgiving turkey just by shopping! Acme offers a free 10-15lb turkey when you spend $300.

Shoprite also offers points toward a free Tday dinner. Their options also include a lasagna, kosher chicken or Tofurky!

Check your favorite local market for their holiday dinner offers.

Retail Stores

William Sonoma actually offers a full Thanksgiving dinner package! Thats unique. You can choose from an entire package or just dessert. Delicious and well decorated at the same time!   https://www.williams-sonoma.com/shop/thanksgiving/?cm_re=hphero-_-default-_-shop_thanksgiving

Restaurants and Catering Establishments

Some of the best restaurants are in Bergen County. Everything from Greek to Mexican to Vegan, you can find it all in the county.

Two of my favorites are B & M Market in Park Ridge and Kosher Nosh in Glen Rock, NJ

1) B&M offers meals for 2 people or 22 people and every amount in between or above and beyond, year round!

Home style cooking, attention to detail and portion is what B&M is known for. Please give at least a few days notice for orders, especially around the November/December Holidays. Sides, salads, and of course delicious, slow roasted Turkey, with fresh seasonings. Dont forget dessert- they have a great partnership with Little Cake Bakery!

B&M currently offer convenient curbside menus and pickup as well as Thanksgiving ready made meals.

2) Kosher Nosh is a extremely well known restaurant and now, take out/catering focused establishment.

Who doesnt love Matzoh Ball Soup or even better, Turkey and matzoh ball soup, with a side of tzimmes (traditional Eastern European dish with glazed sweet potatoes, carrots and pineapple- served warm!)

Kosher Nosh is a great local, go to for all of your holiday meals. Please visit: www.koshernosh.com for all of your comfort food needs!

Let's slow things down while we heat (food) things up!

Stay Well!
