Travel Talk

People are traveling more and more again. Many venues and destinations are offering great deals for last minute vacations. Road trips are more popular than ever, especially as gas prices start to go down again!

The following are some of my favorite places to visit. My top 10, although the list can probably top 100. Which of these cities/travel destinations have you visited or plan to visit this summer/year?

•Vermont
•Las Vegas
•Miami
•Sullivan County, NY-"The Catskills"
•The Poconos
•New Hope, PA
•Mohegan Sun, CT
•Mystic, CT
•Montauk Pt. and the Hamptons

Can you PICTURE YOURSELF there? Imagining yourself in locations both close to home and further away is a perfect start to planning your next family trip.

•Perhaps you will visit the new and completely renovated Mount Airy Resort and Casino in the Poconos?

  • Spend a day in the quaint spa at Honors Haven Resort in Ellenville, NY? Try your luck at Resorts Casino in Monticello, NY while staying at the amazing Villa Roma-All Inclusive Resort in Callicoon, NY?!

•Speaking of casinos, do you want to "press your luck" at Mohegan Sun? Catch Cirque D Soleil at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas? Ride the amazing Monorail in Vegas? Stay at Red Rock and hike near the desert Canyon?

•Do you like to go to the Hamptons in the off season? People-watch or surf and then enjoy the magnificient ocean view restaurant at Gurney's Inn, in Montauk for Labor Day?

•Catch headline entertainers at Bethel Woods?  Visit the Woodstock museum there?

•Discover the beautiful Hudson Valley by taking the Bannerman's Castle tour or by visiting DIA in Beacon, NY?

•Visit the antiques shops and stay at the beautiful Inn at Bowman's Hill, in New Hope, PA?

*If cruising is your thing, you can leave right out of NYC or Bayonne, NJ with Royal Caribbean. Sail to beautiful Bermuda or one of the many other destination RC sails to! Carnival and Norwegian also sail out of NYC.
