I recently came back from a 3 day, jam packed trip and I can tell you that you will NEVER be bored! I was there for a press trip and although I/we were all sans kids, it was a great experience! I did get to sample a little or a lot of everything this amazing resort has to offer. A 6 acre Nickelodeon themed waterpark is unique to this amazing Karisma Hotel Group property-
With over 20 water slides, a pristine lazy river and a very challenging rock wall that extends upward from the pool, there is a water activity for everyone. I wish I took a picture of my attempt to climb the rock wall out of the water. That would have been some kind of selfie! Please use your imagination! It was a bit scary but fulfilling to climb even half way up.
Nine acres in total and built on/around a nature preserve, Nickelodeon™ Hotels & Resorts Riviera Maya has captured the natural beauty of the Mexican Riviera, all while protecting its natural elements. You may see even a crocodile (at a distance), while shuttling from your stunning room to Aqua Nick or to the main building. There is always a surprise awaiting you at this brand new Nickelodeon, all inclusive family resort!
SLIME Management
Speaking of getting around during your vacation or group trip at Nickelodeon™ Hotels & Resorts Riviera Maya, please keep in mind that you will need to take either a shuttle or a golf cart to get to most parts of the resort. Both are free. While you can walk from the AquaNick water park to the main building, you will have to take a short ride to get to and from your Oceanview guest rooms.
Whether you are vacationing with your family or on a group tour/working vacation like we were, this is important to be aware of. Attending all of the informative tours and fun filled activities Macaroni KID and our travel coordinators, Alliance Travel had in store for all of the amazing mom publishers who attended, required a good deal of time/slime management!
You may think, “I don’t want to worry about time and schedules while on vacation!” No worries! With so many amenities available in each and every guest room and suite, you may very likely want to sleep late, skip the shuttle one afternoon and order from the delicious, COMPLIMENTARY, 24 hour in-room dining menu! You will also have access to a fully stocked mini bar/fridge and espresso maker!
Each suite has a swim-up pool facing the ocean. This is a unique treat whereby you will feel that you are on a cruise, on land. Another reason to rest and settle longer!
Did I mention the Spa? Full service spa options along with massage and facial packages await you! Moms and Dads can be pampered while their children ages 4+ partake in endless, structured activities at Club Nick! Again, please schedule your unique spa treatment(s) ahead of time as Club Nick is located within the Aqua Nick water park area and would require taking a short ride to bring your children.
Better yet, let them sleep late and pamper yourselves first thing in the A.M. so you can enjoy the endless activities, dining and entertainment that the entire resort has to offer. You can also schedule a spa service toward the end of the day and then wind down with a drink at your cabana on the beach!
Dining Options (Beach/Guest Room side)
Three of the six spectacular restaurants are overlooking the beach and are also located within the same building as the guest rooms and suites. They include:
- Bikini Bottom- A SpongeBob-themed spot to get quick bites, grab and go breakfast options and handcrafted drinks! Did I mention the smoked salmon and cream cheese on mini bagel bites? I could have eaten those all day after first getting to taste them during our most welcoming Macaroni KID welcome reception! Although the reception was held at the Snick Lounge vs. Bikini Bottom, these delicious salmon bites can be found at either location. They are a perfect snack/mealfor any time of day (refer back to the 24 hr., in room dining option above as well!) I felt like I was on a cruise. Every night while cruising, I would get smoked salmon with cream cheese and arugala on a bagel. The similar delicacy found here at Nickelodeon™ Hotels & Resorts Riviera Maya, topped that!
- Good Burger- A Nickelodeon movie inspired burger joint offers a wide variety of burger options, including my favorite, the falafel burger! The falafel burgers are made with homemade chickpeas and potatoes, topped with arugula and perfectly spiced horseradish mayo, served on a brioche bun. I could eat that every day!
- Yacht Club- A nautical-themed restaurant with endless food displays and uniquely Mexican inspired dishes!
Dining options (Main building/water park side)
- Piazza serves delicious Italian favorites family style while boasting Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle-themed decor.
- Le Spatula is the best place for breakfast and brunch. Once again, endless, spectacular food displays and options such as lobster omeletes and overnight oats with locally grown miel (honey)!
- Nick Bistro is perfect for a big lunch during your jam-packed water park adventure or for an early dinner after getting SLIMED at the water park’s entertainment stage! Amazing, made to order fajitas, tropical fruits and make your own salads plus so much more. Nick Bistro overlooks the humongous Aqua Nick water park. You can even get the most amazing and delicious Poke bowls right in the water park area!
*Entertainment galore, gift shops in each section of the resort and glow parties (at the fun for everyone Snick Lounge)!
