Earth Day(s) events in and around NW Bergen County!

By Elisa Posniack- Macaroni Kid NW Bergen County NJ Publisher April 19, 2024

Even though Earth Day is truly every day, it is important to have a special date to celebrate the earth, specifically and with intent.

The first formal Earth Day occurred on April 22nd,1970. Although it is celebrated each year on April 22nd, Many locations, such as local libraries will have earth day events all week long!

Here are some of my favorite local earth day events:

1) Ridgewood Earth Day and Daffodil Festival- This very well attended annual event is happening again this Sunday April 21st, from 11 to 3pm. One of my favorite parts is the doggy costume parade, which happens around 12:30 in Van Neste Square! Come plant wildflower seeds, have fun recycling and listen to some great live music!

2) Party for the Planet at the Bergen County Zoo! April-20th-April 21st

See how the Bergen County Zoo participates in conservation both at the zoo and out in the field!

Meet local environmental groups. Earth Day celebration
