The Summer of a Lifetime:
25 years ago, I boarded the bus for the last time to be transported into the most
magical place in the world! As a child, sleepaway camp was a special gift my parents
gave to me. Spending my summers on the lake, ziplining through the woods, and
building friendships that have lasted a lifetime all came from my summer home.
For 2, 4, or 7 weeks a summer, today’s campers can leave behind the stresses of
home, school, and all their other obligations. They can hand in their electronic
devices and unplug – and just be a kid. Sleepaway camp is a chance for children to
try new things. They make new friends who become family, experience adventure,
sing their hearts out on stage, try new sports, roast s’mores around the campfire,
and so much more. Camp is a place where children can experience independence
while learning integrity, responsibility and respect in a friendly, safe environment.
Campers develop self-esteem, self-confidence, and resilience. Campers learn to
value others while being valued themselves.
My experiences as a child, and my love for camp has led me to become a Camp
Specialist. My goal is to help find the perfect camp for every child, free of charge.
My experience with recommending the perfect camp isn’t limited to just sleepaway
camp – I also work with many of the big day camps in our area and can help you find
the perfect place to call home.
How it works:
I get to know you
It all starts with a conversation about your specific family. My close
connections with all of the camps enables me to zero in quickly on
several options that meet your unique needs. I search, You choose
Next, I generate a list of possible camps for you to choose from, free
of charge. Your list will be based on your desired location, number of
weeks, co-ed or single-sex, religious affiliation, important activities,
dietary restrictions, etc.
It’s all coming together
After I create your personalized list, I contact the camps on your
behalf so that they can send you more information. Now with all the
info you need in hand, you can begin to choose which camps to keep on
your list. You can also start to set up tours for the summer when camp
is in session
I stay in touch
The hardest part can often be narrowing down the list and choosing
just one, but I’ll be there to answer all of your questions, every step
of the way.
