I often get asked about our favorite playgrounds, so I thought I'd share my family's top five playgrounds and parks in NW Bergen County with you!
Continental Soldiers Park
550 Ramapo Valley Road (Rt 202)

What we love about Continental Soldiers Park (CSP):
Proximity to neighboring towns such as Oakland, NJ and Suffern, NY. Close to the highway (Rt 17). LARGE, multisport field.
Amenities at CSP:
- Seasonal, extensive Snack Stand
- LARGE multi-sport field
- Exercise machine/weight training area (VERY rare find!)
- Close proximity to Ramapo Valley reservation trail
- Little free library stand
Crestwood Lake/Park
500 West Crescent Ave.
Allendale, NJ 07401
What we love about Crestwood Lake Park:
The lake! The large basketball court. The amazing, unique 9/11 memorial walk/trail!
Amenities at Crestwood Lake:
- Man made lake and beach (requires town residence/membership
- Summer concerts on the beach
- Wooded trail for dog walking
- 9/11 memorial trail
- Brand new playground, best for ages 4-11
Finch Park

Ramsey, NJ 07446
What we love about Finch Park:
Everything!!
Amenities at Finch:
- Large baskeball courts
- Pickleball courts!
- Baseball field
- Joe's Ice Cream truck can be found there each day midafternoon! (HOME | YH Ice Cream)
- Summer concerts/movies in the park
- Clean bathrooms
- Large Sandbox for younger children, expansive playground/swings for kids of all ages
Midland Park Playground

Midland Park, NJ
What we love about Midland Park Playground:
Tucked away behind the local elementary/middle schools. Brand new climb area, great for older kids/tweens.
Amenities at Midland Park Playground:
- Large size and great for kids of all ages
- Little book library
- Located next to baseball fields, great for catching a local game after you play
- Located near DePhillips Recreation Center (wonderful location to relax, play, receive mental health counseling)
Wyckoff Community Park/Playground
340 Franklin Ave. (Located within the Memorial Town Complex)
Wyckoff, NJ 07481
What we love about the Wyckoff Community Park/Playground:
Proximity to local community buildings. Sandbox.
Amenities at WCP:
- Located right next door to Wyckoff Library (great events, bathrooms)
- Adjacent to local firehouse
- Multi-sport fields connected
- Playground geared to older kids (7-12)
- Fun sandbox area for younger kids
